Getting started

Recall turns the highlights from books you've already read into a short daily conversation that tests whether the ideas actually stuck.

What is Recall?

Recall works in three steps. First you import highlights from books you've read. Then an AI extracts the concepts worth holding and generates Socratic, open-ended questions from them. Finally the SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm schedules a short review each day so the ideas stay with you, without re-reading and without writing a single flashcard.

Five minutes to your first session

  1. 1

    Create an account

Start right here in your browser: sign up with Google or email. Prefer your phone? Get Recall on Google Play (opens in a new tab) or the App Store (opens in a new tab). Your library syncs everywhere.

  2. 2

    Import your first book

Pick the method that matches how you read. See Importing books. The fastest path for Kindle readers is the Chrome extension.

  3. 3

    Let the questions grow

After import, Recall extracts concepts and generates questions. Generation takes about a minute; the concepts begin as seeds.

  4. 4

    Review daily

The Today tab shows what's due. Answer in your own words. Recall evaluates depth and accuracy, follows up when you're close, and schedules the next review automatically.

Free for 14 days

Premium comes with a 14-day free trial, started from the app through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel before it ends and you keep the free tier: three books and a session a day. Premium features (Kindle import, Ask, and unlimited sessions) need the subscription. MCP is free on every plan. Everything you've planted stays yours.

The daily habit

Building a daily habit is the single most effective thing you can do. Six minutes, three concepts. The intervals widen as you remember, so a mature library costs only a few minutes a day. See Sessions & review for how the schedule works.
